bioTRAiTS Inc. is a biometric technology company providing customized software solutions to meet time, attendance, and access control needs via recognition and verification of unique human characteristics. bioTRAiTS' extensive suite of software solutions for biometric readers was created in cooperation with several security industry manufacturers.

Since its inception in 2003, bioTRAiTS has been a part of the University of Central Florida Technology Incubator - a university-driven community partnership closely associated with the university's office of research and technology transfer. The company has benefited greatly from a generous investment of time and university resources, particularly from Carol Ann Dykes.

bioTRAiTS is the result of a collaborative effort that began in 1989 on a rugby field at University of Central Florida. As teammates on the UCF rugby team, Peter Wengert and Ricardo Aguilar helped their team win the Southeast Regional Championship and place 6th in the Collegiate Eastern Rugby Union. In 1991, they began their first business venture Campus Media Group, Inc. - a direct-mail company that allowed businesses to market their goods and services to 25,000 UCF students through coupons. Key accounts included Hard Rock Café and Anheuser-Busch.

After college, Pete and Rich built their individual careers and stayed in touch. Rich started a very successful marketing and visual arts company - KDR Photo - which he still owns and directs. Pete founded Biomedical Innovations, Inc., a provider of health care diagnostic tools and software for the medical device industry that have since become the industry standard.

When they joined forces again in 2003 to form bioTRAiTS, Pete and Rich committed to building and preserving strong relationships between family, friends, coworkers, clients, and community. In addition to this commitment, bioTRAiTS is dedicated to continuing growth and innovation to meet their clients' changing needs in the areas of access control, asset protection, intellectual property protection and labor management.
